Historical House Borgo Riccio
Borgo Riccio historical house stands in the heart of Cilento, very close to the sea and tucked away in the green, surrounded by a garden with more than 400 olive trees, some of them are centuries old, along with white fig trees, flowers and the Mediterranean maquis.
An enchanted place in the countries of the characteristic Torchiara village, in the province of Salerno, where the owner Angela Riccio de Braud decided to bring back to life one of the most beautiful historical residences of the area.
The town kept its old look, with its wonderful nobiliary palaces and the fortress of Saint Salvatore church dating back to 1100.
But Torchiara is known especially for its Greenway, a 12 kilometres green route, which is practicable by foot, by bike or horse, and which leads to the discovery of the architectonic and landscape beauties of the village.
Situated in a hilly area in the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park , Unesco Heritage, backs the wonderful sea of Agropoli, ancient Saracen village, today a charming small town holding a blue flag for its transparent waters.
Unforgettable baths can be enjoyed at Vallone and Punta Tresino, a natural sea reserve, which can be reached in ten minutes from Borgo Riccio.
Not far from here can be found the archaeological sites of Paestum, Velia, Pompeii, but also the high and indented coastline of Palinuro, the long beach with the pine forest which leads to the sea of Punta Licosa, Amalfi and Positano villages.
The charm of Borgo Riccio
In Borgo Riccio guests can enjoy the Sun of the South and the peace of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, a few kilometres away from well-known sea resorts, like Palinuro and Positano.
Breathtaking surroundings to discover and appreciate an unforgettable journey in the Cilento land.
Each area of the Residence was thought up to experience unique emotions, dedicating time to oneself.
The pleasure of reading a book in the “Pensatoio del Torrino sud” (quiet area in the small tower), the comfort of bathing in the open in the warm Jacuzzi in the shade of orange and lemon trees.
Borgo Riccio is the place where each sense is satisfied: the chirping of balm-crickets, the scents of jasmine, the sight of silver hills of olive trees and the sea with Capri on the horizon, the flavours of homemade jams and the “acqua sale” (salty water), seasoned with the oil and the tomatoes of the village.
You will taste as good home-produced oil, certified organic and not treated, obtained from olives harvested by hand in the vast garden.
