Our Lady of Constantinople

This experience is dedicated to the celebrations of Our Lady of Constantinople in Agropoli and includes participation in the traditional sea procession.

One of Southern Italy’s most beautiful religious festivals, it honours the Madonna as protector of fishermen. Her sacred image is carried in procession by the bearers and placed aboard a fishing boat, which then travels along the Agropoli coastline in a ceremony that is both spectacular and deeply mystical and moving.

After journeying along the coast, the Madonna returns to her church and the festivities continue, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the sea.
